The Lowry High School football team was named the Division I-A state academic state champions by the NIAA. The Division I-A has 25 teams in the league, including 16 in the south. The Buckaroos finished the year 6-3 in the Division I-A North and 7-4 overall. Lowry lost to Churchill County in the opening round of the state playoffs.
