A strange world we live in

Letter to the editor

I was completely blown away by an article in the Feb. 17-19 edition of the Humboldt Sun. The headline notes: "Ex-UNR President Crowley heads firm approved for medical pot."

Joe Crowley a farmer? This is the guy that almost single handedly destroyed Nevada's once world-famous Max C. Fleischmann College of Agriculture. He fired an excellent dean, Dale W. Bohmont, brought in a dean that wasn't even on the search committee's list of top 10 candidates, and ran 80 percent or more of the staff far, far away from Reno. Would seem that to successfully grow pot in Golden Valley it might be handy to rely on the agronomic department in the local ag college. Sorry, that no longer exists.

Well, maybe good old Joe already knew how to grow pot and doesn't need professional academic guidance! What a strange world we find ourselves in; one can only wait, excitedly, for whatever comes down the road next!
