WINNEMUCCA - Rattlesnakes are a well-known reality of the desert environment.
Most people have the sense to avoid rattlesnakes if they come across one, but a dog's natural curiosity puts them at great risk of receiving a potentially deadly venomous bite.
GetRattled - Rattlesnake Avoidance Training for Dogs is holding a training clinic in Winnemucca at the 4-H arena at 1085 Fairgrounds Road on Sunday, June 9, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The clinic is sponsored by the Humboldt County 4-H program.
For a small training fee, people will get the extra assurance and peace of mind that their dogs will avoid dangerous rattlesnake encounters, protecting the dogs, and their families, from suffering the tragedy of a rattlesnake bite.
