Phillip Ross Simpson

April 2, 1958 - May 16, 2025

It is with great sorrow we share the passing of Phillip Ross Simpson, a loyal and devoted father, brother and son who died Friday, May 16, 2025 at 67 years old. 
He was born April 2,1958 in Winnemucca, a small rural community in Northern Nevada.
As a young boy he had a wonderful adventurous spirit, being the youngest of four children he was alway mischievous and full of energy.
He really enjoyed being outdoors skateboarding, sledding and bike riding with his cousins and friends.  
After graduating from high school he attended community college to further is education and started his career in casino gaming and management.
He embraced the values of hard work and decided to pursue a new career serving many years in the mining industry, retiring from Twin Creeks Mine two years ago.
His family came first in his life.  His love and support for them was unwavering.  He had a heart full of love, sharp wit, and a tell it as it is personality. 
He enjoyed watching classic old movies, listening to old country music and comedians.  He loved the outdoors especially riding his ATV’S in the canyons near his home, fishing, shooting guns as a sport and taking his family on outings to enjoy the beautiful foothills no matter what season it was.  
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jackie and Erle Simpson Sr., Rose and Enrico Quilici, father Erle Simpson Jr., mother Ida Cochran, brother Erle Simpson III and sister Cheryl Rhib.  
He is survived by Sue Rivera (former wife), brother David Toland (Lisa), sister Linda Kasper (Mike), sister Cathy Carter ( Dale), sons David Meade (Anna), Paco Cardenas, Sean Simpson, Robert Simpson and Michael Simpson.
Also three grandchildren, Bernardo, Aston, Isaiah and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
We will miss his presence in our lives, his laughter, his quick wit and bigger than life personality.  He will forever be with us in our hearts. 
A private family burial will be held in July.
