The regular season for Northern 2A girls golf is quickly coming to an end. Battle Mountain hosted its home tournament last Thursday at Mountain View Golf Course.

The Lady Longhorns finished fourth with a team score of 473. The Elko JV led the field with a 428 and was followed by West Wendover (463) and Wells (472). White Pine had the only other team score at 539 in the field of seven teams. Tonopah and Round Mountain did not have enough players for a team score.

West Wendover’s Sarah Isaacs was the low medalist at 84. Elko’s Gabby Bement was second at 92 and West Wendover’s Sydney Boatman was third at 93. Wells' Victoria Young (105) and Caresse Basaraba (107) were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Lynzee Devlin led Battle Mountain with a 112 and Savannah Gunther followed at 114. Kennedy Soule shot a 122 and Adriene Burkhart and Adriana Robles each shot 125. Myriah Watts carded a 168.

“We basically shot the same score we did in Elko the week before but other teams played better thus the fourth place finish,” said BMHS coach Roger Wallock. “As a coach, I am pleased with the progress all the girls are making in their game. We only have about a week left to try and shave a few shots off our final scores.”

Battle Mountain finishes the regular season in Round Mountain on Thursday.

The NIAA 2A State Championships take place on Monday and Tuesday at Toana Vista Golf Course in West Wendover.
